Hello,

It's my fifth day with Ubuntu and I have another question:)

Today I've installed Compiz and I can't set bottom-cube wallpaper:/
Upper is fine, but on the bottom I can see only choosen colour:(

Second question (Animations):
How to set "burn" when i close a window?
So far I have only "Randon animations for all events", so I can see them all in random sequence. How to choose one and use it for some action (like close window)?

Regards
Jet

P.S.
How can I see hidden files?

Did you install compizconfig-settings-manager? You can configure compiz via that frontend

How can I see hidden files?

In nautilus? View --> Show hidden files

Hello, jet-san. :-) How are you liking it so far?

For setting the bottom cube cap's wallpaper, go to your CompizConfig Settings Manager (Which you do have) --> Utility --> Cube Caps --> Appearance --> Bottom Image Files.

For Animations, just uncheck all of the options from the pool that you do not want.

Also, you can see hidden files with either View --> Show Hidden Files, or Ctrl + H.

I hope I've been of some help, and I hope that you're liking Ubuntu. Welcome to the community!

Best to you, and good luck.

I'm using 9.04 and have no cube caps under my utility settings. I am using Compiz 0.8.2

Actually only one for letter "C" in my CompizConfig Settings Manager -> Utility -> is "Crash handler":/

Animations:
I've just "tick"(in Randon Effects - Pool) BURN in first 3 tabs (Open, Close and Minimise Animations) and it doen't work:(
I like these random animations, but I'd like to see them one by one^^

Thanks for hidden files, that was easy:P

Yes I like Ubuntu so far:)
It's even easier than I thought:D

Take care!
Jet

P.S.
Is it something here like Alt+Ctrl+Del in Windows?
I'd like to see hidden processes. I don't know are there any, but I have "Close Window" AND "Exit" in my BOINC manager. When I click Close Window, I think its hidding somewhere and I want to see where:P
Does it make any sense for u lads?:>

You can view running processes with System Monitor
System > Administation > System Monitor

sry m8, but i can't find anything like that:/

oh, found "Cube Caps"!
CompizConfig Settings Manager -> Desktop -> Desktop Cube -> Apperance [tab] -> Cube Caps [menu].
This is the place where i set wallpaper, but as i said it works only for upper one:/
I even have 3 picks in the table there, but only first one is working (upper).

Out of topic, but it's probably very simple question, so I don't wanna waste new Thread:)

I see it's a torrent on Ubuntu, where can I find any FTP client and something like eMule?

I'm not sure but is it called eDonkey or something?
Was it first on Linux and later on Windows?

Jet

I believe it was windows and linux, same time.

Use synaptic or apt-get to install the packages.

ON 9.04 I have compiz in my applications menu, but the icon is only the generic linux icon, not the blue compiz one seen on previous versions. Synaptic tells me that all compiz packages are already installed. I have re booted many times since they were installed.

When I hit that icon, the screen jumps a bit, goes blank, & then returns to normal without the compiz icon showing in the upper panel as it used to.

I have extra desktop effects enabled & they work fine. I use an Nvidia integrated graphics chip with the latest driver...all fine too.

Its just the compiz effects app I cant run. Any thoughts ?
