dual boot problem windows reinstall over wrote grub

This is a dual boot system.

Windows was having an issue so I re-installed windows xp pro. i reformatted the ntfs partition. I know there is nothing wrong with the linux partitions in the extended partition however since windows can't figure out that theres anything in the extended partiton windows is the only thing that will load.

any surgestions on how to get grub working again?

of course shortly after posting I realize that I have the answer sitting in one of my firefox tabs waiting to be read.....
go figure.
