Simple, but insane problem:
If I enable desktop effects (which run fine) and go to System->Power management or System->Sound, the screen gets garbled. First, only the upper half of the tabs disappears, then, when I move the window around stuff starts to stop and the screen fills with texture junk and in the end I can only move the cursor and X doesn't react to ctrl-alt-F1 or anything.
nvidia geforce 8200 chipset.
