upgrade question

I need to upgrade from kubuntu to the latest version of ubuntu.

When i did the last upgrade last year, i lost all of my thunderbird email

will the upgrade destroy my thunderbird emails, are there steps to prevent it

Hi, upgrading to another release should not remove your thunderbird mail, before doing the upgrade you can backup your /home/username/.mozilla-thunderbird folder.
