View Full Version : [ubuntu] Dr Java Installation Help Needed
May 15th, 2009, 04:58 AM
Im attempting to get DrJava installed, however Im fairley new to the world of Linux, and as such, have had a difficult time getting several things in it (like wine) to work. I enjoy this OS, and would really love to learn how to use it properly, so any help on how to get this application installed and working would be greatly appreciated. Remember, I know practally nothing on how to get programs to run properly, so any descriptions or instructions need to be very detailed and clear.
Thanks for the help

I suggest you read the official documentation first to familiarize yourself with Ubuntu, before installing things and such so don't end up breaking your system. Link: https://help.ubuntu.com/9.04/index.html

IMO, the only advantage Dr Java has over another IDE is the "interactions" pane. If you're looking for a Java editor, I would recommend installing Eclipse from the repositories. (Applications > Add/Remove, then search "eclipse")
