Depends on what you are building it for.

Sure, but it would be easier to help you if we knew what kind of server you were trying to build or what you are going to use the server for.

Whole story:

My father wants to branch off from his current business that he works for, and start his own business. To do that we will need an office, a network infrastructure, and an IT guy to control it all. Well, who is the the only guy he knows that will do it all relatively well, and for free? Me. So he has hired me (for gratis).

I have gotten everything else setted except for the server, and that's what I am working on now. The server needs to be able to do all the things an office needs (which I am just guessing at, at this point).

EDIT: By the way, what he does is security for airports and the like... His website has a nice list, www.fjstech.com (which i did with drupal for free as well, is "experience" really worth working like this for no monetary gain what-so-ever?)

Is the LAMP stack for hosting his external site?
What type of internet connection will you get?
How will you backup the data?
Maybe consider 2 HDDs in RAID-1, if one drive fails, you won't have to wait for a backup to be restored to keep it running.
What type of growth is planned?
How locked into Microsoft desktop products are they? Maybe find out how they work, speak to your dad about the cost of licenses for MS products and weigh up the merits for them wanting/needing MS products against the cost of owning them.
Will you be mounting this in a rack?
What about a UPS?

There are loads of questions for this, the above are just a few.

Well the website doesn't have much content, but that isn't always necessary.

I would drop the "Welcome", it's useless.

All i wanted to know, was if the parts listed were compatible with each other... But in response:

Yes
Not sure yet
Not as of yet
thats exactly what i was planning
skip
Microsoft EVERYTHING! exept on the server.
No rack, at least not in the beginning

All the website is for, is just to say that we exist, and how to contact us, nothing further :)
