Please help!--
I'm trying to install Xubuntu 9.04 on my 2001 Quicksilver Mac, 867 Mhz, 1.125 GB RAM, other stuff (as reported by "About This Mac"):

Not sure if you need anything else...
But with that said, I don't know what to do to get it (or any other!) variation/flavor of Linux to work.... nothing seems to work! I've even tried OpenSuse 11.1, and a few others. At best I'll get a brief "Installing" message, but then everything seems to stop.
I'm trying to stay with Xubuntu (9.04), since I'll be using that on my Pentium 2 laptop (no install problems there).
