Not sure if you need anything else...

But with that said, I don't know what to do to get it (or any other!) variation/flavor of Linux to work.... nothing seems to work! I've even tried OpenSuse 11.1, and a few others. At best I'll get a brief "Installing" message, but then everything seems to stop.

I'm trying to stay with Xubuntu (9.04), since I'll be using that on my Pentium 2 laptop (no install problems there).

Thank you for your help!
Eric

Your post is kind of old so don't know if this will be of any help. But I have a Quicksilver that looks very similar to yours. I just started trying to install Ubuntu on it.

I was using the standard 9.04 PowerPC download and I couldn't get past the "Loading, please wait...". Just hung there.

I tried the "alternate" download and it gets farther into the install but hangs detecting network hardware.

I am trying to resolve that issue now.
