How many people do you know using Linux?

Someone who goes to my school (that only has 30 people per grade).
I said I was installing Linux and he was like, I use Ubuntu. I was like @!^%$^#!^@&.
Cuz most people are like "What's that?"
It just weird to find someone in this tiny village who is using Linux also, it must be getting more popular.

I set my inlaws house up with ubuntu desktop and ubuntu laptop. They use windows only in virtual box and that's only if they have to use some specific application or macro in microsoft office. I installed ubuntu on my fiances laptop too and shes doing fine with it too. I know maybe three or four other people that use linux.

My mother's desktop computer is set up with OpenSuSE 10.0 (dual-booting with Windows XP, though XP is only used for scanning), I'm pretty sure one of my cousins runs some version of Linux on his computers (he's a computer tech), my sister used Kanotix/Knoppix for awhile, then moved to Kubuntu 7.04, and both of my own laptops dual-boot Windows and Ubuntu. This one Vista, the other XP. I only use Windows myself because of a lack of modem support (accursed dial-up internet, I feel like I'm stuck in '99) in Linux and because I need Photoshop for work.

A few of my friends run some version of Linux as well, mostly Ubuntu.

Two good friends of mine are Linux heads (in the legitimate sense of that word), and beyond that... I know a couple people (not well, just in passing) at my college who are into Linux.

a harder question is how many people do you know running Ubuntu.

I know 5 other than myself. My room mate, his girlfriend my X room mate, 2 other good friends.

I know alot of people who use Redhat. Its a requirement for IT mangers and computer science people at my school

I know of 1 person currently running Mint

and 2 or 3 Kubuntu users (i guess thats technically ubuntu)

My father uses Unix and I've seen him messing with Fedora awhile back.

I know 0 who have ran linux and went back to windows

i know one guy full fledged. but others 2( including me) are part time users. Most in night. Since in morning we are using windows since we are using for trading so there is no software in linux to trade.

well i managed to get my best friend to use ubuntu for a month, he really liked it at first but then went back to xp becoz of how difficult it was to install apps that didnt come in deb.

oh and my cousin dabbles with it alot i think.

I actually know quite a few. I work with scientists, so they do all their work in Linux. Mostly Ubuntu and/or Scientific Linux.

Only counting people who I know use it at home, I know two. A friend of mine and my fiancee's dad (who was very interested in learning about it. Yay!).

I know 1 person (who works at a local radio station) who uses Linux, IIRC he uses Ubuntu! :)

My girlfriend uses it and is happy enough. My step-father has a bunch of servers running and a small desktop all with Linux, which my mother uses occasionally too. I have two friends that also use Linux. My younger brother is warming to the idea of running Ubuntu, as well.
