Mods: I'm not sure if this belongs in the hardware section or software.

There are a few old threads on installing the ADS DVD Xpress under Ubuntu
(see: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=877015&highlight=ADS+DVD+Xpress and http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=552996&highlight=ADS+DVD+Xpress for the two newest ones).

Using the information in the November thread, I've created a patched version of the wis-go7007 driver (available here http://www.badcode.org/pubfiles/wis-go7007-linux-0.9.8-patched-for-28.tar (http://www.badcode.org/pubfiles/wis-go7007-linux-0.9.8-patched-for-28.tar) ). The patch works and I can use gorecord to record from the ADS DVD Xpress with no problem -- quality isn't half bad either.

My question is how do you set this up in MythTV? I would assume you'd use the "USB MPEG-4 encoder box (Plexor ConvertX, etc)" setting, since this uses the go7007 driver, but when I view the output in MythTV, all I get is a green screen.

Does anyone have one of these they've used in MythTV before?
