What do i have to do to install ubuntu in a laptop that does not have a cd-rom?

i have the ubuntu installation cd but this is one of those mini notebooks that does not have a cd-rom. it is suposed to be installed from the startup booting. can i configure it so it uses a usb memory device?

Try an external CD-ROM drive (with USB connector), or use UNetbootin (http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/) to put the ISO image on an USB stick.

Search the forums, because you are not the first person asking this kind of question.
