I'm thinking about buying the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 for my Dell Mini 9. Does anyone have this mouse? Does it work with Ubuntu 9.04?

Thanks!

edit: Oops, sorry about the typo in the title. Oh well, no way to change it now.

does the dell have built in bluetooth, if yes, get a razer mouse instead.

I have the red version to match my Lenovo S10, it works flawlessly

Yes, I see your typo.
I think you meant butt.
In which case I agree you should butt it.
Butt it as far away as you can.

I've had poor opinion of Microsoft's mice ever since I was silly enough to buy an intellimouse.

I haven't ever tried the bluetooth mice. But my USB Intellimice are top quality - on Windows and Linux.

Yes, the Dell has built-in bluetooth, which is why I'm keen on getting a mouse to match :)

I read some reviews on the razer mouse, and it seems to have a problem with going to sleep when not in use for a few seconds then jerking awake and moving all over the screen.

Does that happen to you? Is there a way to change it?

the Ubuntu wireless mouse is really good and works with Ubuntu out of the box

looks better than a Microsoft mouse at your computer :D

But it is not a Bluetooth mouse; it requires a receiver plugged into an USB slot. If you have a laptop that has built-in Bluetooth, then a Bluetooth mouse would be preferrable.

I have a Logitech V470 Bluetooth mouse, and it works really well on my Dell XPS M1530 and also on my Dell Mini 9.

Don't buy it if it is a "Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth".

This mouse does not work with Jaunty out of the box, nor have I had any luck getting it to work. Seems like nobody else has either, since I posted here:

and received no replies.
