Hi ,

I am facing a error from last 2 days while updating my packages.

Error is :

GPG error: http://download.webmin.com sarge Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY D97A3AE911F63C51Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.45 80]
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

I have also attached screenshot for the same as attachment.

Also i am using ubuntu 8.04 and i want to upgrade myself in latest version of ubuntu and I am not able to see the option which is asking for the updation of the versions in the Update Manager.

Can any one help me to get rid out from these errors ?

Hi, for the gpg error open a terminal (Applications>Accessories>Terminal) and type or paste

wget http://www.webmin.com/jcameron-key.asc
then

sudo apt-key add jcameron-key.asc

sudo apt-get update
for the second one

Failed to fetch http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dis...86/Packages.gz (http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/gutsy/main/binary-i386/Packages.gz) 404 Not Found [IP: 91.189.88.45 80]
check your /etc/apt/sources.list as it looks like you have an entry for Gutsy that needs to be removed.
If you are not sure how to remove it post the output to

cat /etc/apt/sources.list

You will need to first upgrade to 8.10, check under Software Sources under the "update" tab that the upgrade is set to "normal" release.
