Cannot install canon ip 1880 printer

I've managed to install ubuntu 9.04 and everything is working nicely except for the printer. I cannot install my canon IP1880 printer.

This printer is a quite common printer but it is not available in the list of printers database.

Need help and appreciate some ideas to resolve this.

I was having the Same Problem with my Canon Pixma MP460. It was not listed in the list of printer types. Out of sheer curiosity, I tried using another Model that was listed & it ended up working beautifully. All my features work correctly.

I have a Canon Pixma MP460
I am Using Canon Pixma MP150 setup

Try that out..see if it works for you. :-)

Tried with 5-6 canon drivers in the database but still cannot get it to work:(.
