After upgrading to jaunty, I lost my Internet connection, my system would intermittently crash, and ran completely like crap.
I restarted my computer, went into the recovery console, and I think I clicked to repair broken packages. All I can say to everyone having problems, try using recovery mode. It fixed all my problems.
