View Full Version : [all variants] EVDO in Thailand: have you gotten it to work?

Has anyone successfully configured any computer with any EVDO modem on any variant of Ubuntu to work with any Thai EVDO carrier?

I'm taking my Sony-TZ270N on vacation there in a couple weeks, and it has a built in Sprint WWAN module (EVDO Rev A, I believe). It looks like there are EVDO carriers in Thailand, but I really don't have the slightest idea where to start in choosing one and getting it set up. I'm looking for anyone who has gone before to offer suggestions, specifically:

1) Which EVDO carrier did you use?

2) Which version of Ubuntu? (I'm on 8.04, but I'm happy to upgrade if it'll help)

3) What kind of modem? (Ideally it'd be a Sony TZ, but I'm still eager to hear if you've gotten it working with a USB modem.)

Thanks for any help you can offer!
