I have kubuntu 8.04 installed on my machine, which is directly connected to my router. I have a java program that repeatedly downloads rss files (using HTTP connection). When I restart my machine, everything works well for a few days. After a few days (2-3 days), the java application gets "Connection timed out" for every request it makes. Moreover, if I open a browser, i.e., firefox, and enter the exact same url my java application is trying to access, firefox doesn't return anything. However, if I try to load some other HTTP page (i.e., www.yahoo.com), it loads perfectly fine. The most amazing thing is: once I restart my machine, everything is back to normal. I was thinking maybe there is some caching mechanism of linux that gets overloads or something like that? If any one can help me, it would be great, Thanks, Ezra
