Hello everyone,

I've been testing out ubuntu 8.04 (32 bit) along side xp for some time now. I finally decided today to take the plunge and use it as my main os. As my systems a 64 bit machine i decided at the same time to upgrade to a 9.04 64 bit version.

All went well on the install (i've done it 4 times now and no problem there) but as soon as i go to install the nvidia graphics drivers it all goes wrong. I've tried all of the drivers listed in restricted drivers and downloaded the driver for my cards (2x GeForce 7600GT). Every time i install the driver the same thing happens, i reboot and see a command line. From there i'm stuck so i've just been reinstalling and trying again.

The exact output after reboot is as follows

Boot from (hd0,0) ext3 004cb4a2-84f9-4fce-828c-8a170f017aff

I have almost the exact same problem...

If it helps... When i first boot off the CD i have to select the "Use Primary Video Drivers" or whatever it is under the F4 menu or else it just goes to a black screen and never changes.

Anyone?
