hey guys,
I have no CDR's and im trying to install kubuntu on my machine that is currently running windows. I want to run both OS. My idea is to extract the Kubuntu ISO to a hard drive partition instead of to a cd. Then i would use my good ole Hirens boot cd to load DOS and run the install files from there. Or something like that. I have read many other ways to do this, but they either require network installation (i cant plug into a network....only have wireless), or are just too complicated.

Is there a valid work around to just put the iso to a hard temp hard drive partition?

what is the installer file in the extracted ISO files that i would need to run?

thankyou!
mike.

What you are planning will not work, have a look at the Installation (http://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation) documentation.
