Can I assign the win key on the keyboard to a launcher - say a link to "my data".
If it is so, then the option to do so, should be added to the right click and then property options.

Not that easy to assign as was in Windows right now Compiz effects over rights your ability to assign hot keys.. If you turn off your 3d effects or compiz you can run hot keys..... There are other ways to assign hot keys k,but they are complex...
