Installation Taking a Really Long Time - Complete Beginner

Okay so I'm really new here. I'm non-nerdy, but I can do basic computer-things.
Anyway, I'm downloading Ubuntu off of a cd, my laptop is very new, I can give you the specs if necessary.
The download bar is only 25% downloaded and it's been downloading for a full day. The bottom bar says it has 7:43:59 remaining...is this normal?
Sorry that I'm completely clueless.

no this is not normal, on my desktop it took start to finish maybe an hour...are you using the live cd??

there are two cds , one live and one alt, use the live cd, and dont know about laptops, but 804 just works on desktops. and this quick fix will not work, let us know...

Well I restarted my laptop and it installed in like 20 minutes. So, problem solved, I guess.
