I am having problems installing 9.04 server...I am getting corrupt data warnings during the install

I have used infraRecorder and Nero burning rom to burn the image to disc.

I have downloaded the program 4 times from different sites.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

maybe you're burning the disc too fast?

slower + verify

4x

can't think of what else it could be...you downloaded it repeatedly from diff sites, so doubt it's a wrong checksum (but you should still do md5sum anyway)

cd-rw will work fine too, if you have one (that's what I use all the time)

Sorry I am not proficent in software lingo...so what is a md5sum? my guess this is the check disc for defects on the ubuntu start up screen?

Well I tried 4x burn and 2x burn the 2x let the disc scan to 40% (improvement) but it still failed.

I will try another puter...

Looks like it was some bogus discs...I bought some new ones and it checked out fine...

so it was bad media.

reminds me of the problems I've had recently finding dvd+rw that work

md5sum is explained in the burningisohowto link I gave above
