Thanks to all who worked on the download upgrade version of 8.04 LTS.
I just finished the upgrade, took about 4.5 hrs from the download of files
to the finish. Smooth installation. The only problem was my old Compaq desktop w/Nvidia Gforce 2 card would not let me go over 800 x 600 resolution with the Ubuntu/Nvidia Glx driver. After a few frustrating trials, I finally replaced the Nvidia Glx driver with a Nvidia "Legacy" driver & everything is back to where I had it.
I upgraded from 7.10, & probably will run this version to the end too.
Actual download of files on 1.5 mb/s AT&T was about 1.5 hr. Have checked printer, & sound is o.k. too Thanks again......"G" :) ( I feel better with a up-dateable
version !)
