Printing problems

How do I get my Lexmark computer to work with linex? It says its the default but when I try to print it gives me an error message saying "IT MIGHT NOT BE CONNECTED":)

Are you sure the printer is switched on and connected to your computer. Could you please post the output of the following command:

lsusb

Normally when you plugin a printer support in Linux you should get a popup asking you to set it up. Did you get any such popup?

If you select System > Administration > Printing, you get a window titled "Printer Configuration - localhost". What do you see in that window?
