I hope it is, because 8.10 wasn't (in my experience).

Hm I have the live CD right here, I should just check it out.

For me it is not.
Took 3 times for it to install.
No sound, even with proposed repository enabled and sound updates.
Sound is possible, but it starts muted, and stops working within 30 seconds. Sound worked fine since 6.06

Shutdown beep. I have proposed repository enabled, and installed latest kernel that was supposed to fix it, yet I still have shutdown beep.

Some pretty obvious bugs that were not fixed before release. Ubuntu worked great in 8.04 and 8.10, but Jaunty has been a disaster compared to them.

Intrepid worked, jaunty worked. Simple enough. But jaunty has more problems with pulseaudio :(

Doesn't the fact that you made this post show some doubt? ;-)

Bah, Jaunty is slow as molasis and flash in jaunty renders everything to a snailspace.

At least you had the courtesy of saying "for me". For me ;) and a lot of other people jaunty is awesome. It just goes to show that no OS will work for everybody.

Same here...and neither my sound was staticky.

So, 8.10 was a helluva lot better.
Jaunty is 8.10 but faster...much more stable, and aesthetically pleasing.
