Hello Ubuntu users,
It has been, what - about a month since the release of the final Ubuntu 9.04 release...
Please give your comments on the release's achievements since previous releases, including the beta. What do you find has improved, why will you continue using Ubuntu and what makes you tick in the Ubuntu operating system.
This will be used to write an article, so if you would like your name mentioned if you're quoted, please leave your name.

I've tried the LiveCD I received yesterday.
The wireless wouldn't work :(
I'm a NOOB at Linux is probably why but I've been running Ibex for the last three or four weeks and I'm comfortable with Ibex.
I'll wait a little longer before I upgrade to Jaunty. I got to ask more questions about why the wireless is not working in it and is working in Ibex.

I went from 8.10 to 9.04
I've only noticed that its a tad faster than 8.10 when using it, and it cut the boot-time practically in 1/2.
It's defiantly an upgrade that was worth it.

The speed increase is nice, but I like the notifications best. When I first saw Shuttleworth's blog post about Notify OSD I thought it was a waste of time, but now I try to make everything use it on purpose. Rather than checking all my services, let them notify me.

Just some updates to the software and a new notification system (there is more, but that's about it for desktop users).
EXT4 can now also be used, but isn't used by default.
The bootup time is faster than ever, that's nice. But I find it takes a bit longer to load the desktop than previous releases.
It's a solid release, nothing shocking but that isn't a bad thing.

Jaunty is good, in terms of boot-speed and several optimizations. Everything's great. My internet works fine (wired).
But I am having problems downloading torrents. And i dont know why no-one has had any problems like that! Lol, thats unique ;)
Anyways, I am in XP right now since torrent downloads are integral part of my web-surfing. Too bad, I can't use Jaunty on regular basis. :(

Yes, as a matter of fact I've tried virtually all the software available for Ubuntu (including WINE+utorrent). But none of 'em work.
I have another thread regarding this, but I am not sure if i can post the link here.
Anyways the title of the thread is "Deluge error!"

I just installed it yesterday, everything is running great. The only issue I have is that when I'm in the theme chooser, and I hit customize, no thumbnail previews are being generated for Icons, or controls (My Support topic (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1154068)). But other than that everything seems fast and I really love the new notifications system, my only thoughts on it are that when used for stuff like email, or pidgin the bubbles should be click-able and open the message, or mail client.

For me, except Rhythmbox not being able to send music to my iPod, everything works great. Installed Songbird for that. No more cool covers but no problem. Really looks like Rhythmbox took a step behind there. Oh, and installing the new drivers from the nvidia site. The 180 in the repositories has a lot of bugs. But the new 180.51 in the site is great.
