I delayed ugrading to Kubuntu Jaunty because of the bug in the network manager widget, but doesn't this create a catch-22?

If I boot off the live CD now, I can't connect to my wireless. Presumably if I install then I still won't be able to go online...

...so I won't be able to update the fixed package...

...so how do I go about this? Is there some other network connection software I can install from the live CD which will work? Can I patch my newly-installed system while still in the live CD?

Basically, what's a sensible upgrade path?

Thanks for your time

you could manually download the fixed package before you upgrade, save it to a flash drive, then post-upgrade you could install the fix.
