Ubuntu on Xbox

Anyone tried installed Ubuntu on the original Xbox? And if so then what packages and software works best to get a FLOSS game and (non-patent encumbered) video player?

you can't use the regular ubuntu, it has to be modified for the xbox.(you xbox needs to be moddded too, hopefully you already know that)
