I've tried, to no avail, to get 9.04 installed on my Dell Optiplex 320. Everything installs correctly, but when it asks to pull the cd and reboot after install, when it reboots, all it does is throw two errors and eventually a black screen with blinking cursor. The two errors say something like:

ata(1): soft reset failed
ata(2): soft reset failed

Any suggestions??

In the Bios I had to deselect sata mode as AHCI to IDE.

After I did that everything worked.
(Had the same exact problem)

Thanks for the quick reply!!!

I've looked everywhere in the BIOS and can't find that option. Under "DRIVES" all the options I have are to turn the SATA 0 - SATA 3 On and Off and PATA0 and PATA1 On or Off... I went through every setting.. I don't think I have that option...
