I've been getting a little bored with the plain plastic on the case of my aspire one so I've been wondering what I need to do to paint it. I'm only wanting to do the back, like Dell's new notebooks but with a better design.

I thought I'd spray paint the back case white then, with some modelling paints apply the designs, but reading up I noticed you need to do multiple coats. I couldn't find anyone who had done more than a flat colour so I don't know how sanding down would work in my case.

I know I have to be difficult but then I like that.

Thanks in advance

You might be interested in this article (http://www.instructables.com/id/Paint-your-Laptop---Project%3a-Big-Red/) [instructables.com]. I've been wanting to get around to doing this to my own lappy for some time now, although it isn't a fancy netbook.

I recommend to take a look in the Aspire One-forum. Some guys have painted, and modified their hardware.

well here is what I know about painting plastic... dont forget to sand before painting otherwise the paint might not have anytihng to stick to and use a primer. Also watch the corners, too much paint and the corners might not line back up properly.

If the Laptop is a solid color and not a glssy finish, you can always use vinyl dye... great stuff. Pick it up in a automotive store. It originally used to for old cars that came with faded plastic/vinyl interiors.
