What does the new Partial Upgrade contain for upgrades? What does it fix?
Got the notification box in the update manager today ( 7 May, 2009 ), would like to know what improvements it contains before I install it. Please/Thankyou :)

It lists four different things

-Complete Generic Linux Kernal
-General Linux Kernal Headers
-Linux-image-generic
-Linux Restricted modules generic

The only thing im interested in, is a fix for the slow internet speed i've
experienced since I did a new install of Jaunty 9.04

Thanks again

I decided to do the partial upgrade on the kernel stuff and now my internet is back to normal. It was operating in spurts since I upgraded to jaunty. Did not matter whether I was on wireless or not.

Now my internet is snappy like it used to be. :)

Does it put another OS choice for ubuntu in your Lilo by chance? Trying to avoid that. Good to hear about the faster internet speed. Been waiting for that. Missed 8.10's speed.

It should list a new kernel choice, but you can fix that by removing old kernels. The easy way to do that is via Synaptic - just mark the old kernels for removal, then click Apply. I usually keep a couple of kernel choices available, just in case. I currently have the .28, .29, and .30rc4 installed. If one becomes unusable, I can still boot from one of the others.
