Alright, I have had a issue after a fresh install were if I set 2 seperate x desktops in nvidia settings with any visual affects it creates 2 black bars under and to the right of my hd tvs screen. I played around with this and noticed if I enabled compiz and the cube I could move around my desktop and the rest of my desktop was still there.

The only time I have my tv cutting off parts of the second monitors desktop is when I have any type of visual effects on. When I have none every thing appears normal and runs like it should. Also twin view works fine with effects enabled.

Ive searched around but could not find any anwers to my issue or what it is related to other then the visual effects.

Any help getting my screen to look right would be helpful.

Hi Darkjasper,

So these black bars are appearing in the lower-righthand corner of your screen? Is it happening on both monitors? Maybe I'm not understanding correctly--a bit of clarification would be appreciated. Another thing I'd like to know: are you enabling two separate desktops, or two Compiz viewports on the same desktop?

Better yet ill take a screen and gimp the second monitor what it looks like on my tv.

I am enabling nvidia's seperate x screen option in the settings application.

My first thought is that it was something to do with just compiz until I disabled that and just tried the 2 other options in the appearance menu. Another thing I thought it was could be the resolution of my main monitor but it seemed to big....

Turning to the resolution seems really reasonable to me, given those images. Have you tried all the settings (even though the dimensions seem extreme already)? Unfortunately, I'm not familiar enough with multiple monitor setups to offer you better advice at this time. Anyone else?

One thing that's still unclear to me: you've mentioned two monitors and a TV. Are there three screens involved here, or is the second monitor actually a television?
