Hi,

is there a way to align windows in Gnome into the upper half, lower half, left half or right half of the screen.
I use a tool under windows which allows me to align a windows in the left half of the screen using keyboard shortcuts. This is great once you are used to it. Is there something in Gnome?

This is particularly useful, if you have a wide screen monitor and want to open a browser and something else at the same time.

Thanks
Peter

Yes.

I just found out how do it today in Compiz.

Under compiz manager find the windows manager and enable tiles.

you can then use <shift>+<super> and <a> or <s> or <z> or <x>

to activate the effect.

Thanks for the suggestion. Compiz is really cool stuff.

The tiles plugin in only partly what I'm looking for.
The idea is to only move/resize the currently active window,
so it will be at the left half/right/upper/low half/corner.
Any other plugin to do this?

Thanks
Peter
