View Full Version : A brief trip to the dark side

Ok, I like free food, and I wanted my share of the free KFC.

Naturally though, when printing coupons, they make you go through a proprietary printer program that won't let you print to PDF or other stuff. So I had to dust off my copy of vista on my other hard drive and use that. This is my story.

Boot 1. Progress bar is stuck, hard reboot.
Boot 2. Booting into repair mode. Repair mode fails, shuts down computer.
Boot 3. Finally boots, but has to reboot to finish installing upgrades.
Boot 4. Finally printed my coupon. Hung on shut-down, hard reboot, this time to Linux.
Boot 5. In Linux, Computer clock two hours ahead. (A bug perhaps?)

(Keep in mind that I hadn't booted this copy of vista for at least a few months.)

I thought the dark side offered cookies, not grilled chicken...

I'd always wondered why I couldn't print coupons in Ubuntu...

Probably not a bug with the clock. Windows tends to handle time differently than Linux does

I can't decide which is better: crispy cruelty or original-recipe.

Wait! No! I know! Honey BBQ Cruelty Wings. Oh, God, yes.

It was (is) a bug, up to Vista SP1 you had the same problem when dual booting XP, sometimes the MBR records just messed up and you needed to do a repair.

If only PETA activists weren't all skinny vegetarians; we could fry them instead.

Now for the rest of the story....The plant listed on the undercover investigations at the Missouri plant. The people video taped were PETA activist whom were "undercover" at that processing plant. I know this because that's one of the plants we service and we were there when this happened. The people were fired, what the owners did not know was that they had video taped it themselves. The reason given by the person's involved "we need to get the message out it's wrong to treat animals like this"---there were 6 activist working there at that time. The owners subsequently found activist in other plants as well. After this and the incident in Texas last summer, any credence I had in PETA is gone.
That is not the original video, I'm guessing Georges did file a law suit for them to pull the video. The original video was of them just stomping on the birds and spray painting their faces, which is what they were caught doing. Just for the records the birds are killed with a stunner...PETA is pushing suffocating them with CO2 in the dumper area.
