View Full Version : [gnome] How can I remove "Window List" applet from gnome panel?

OK, for many icons/applets in the gnome panel, you can right-click on them and select "Remove from panel". However, for the Window List applet (the thing which provides the tabs indicating open applications), when you right click on it, it gives a different menu that's not related to the panel (it's the same menu you get when you right click on a window title bar). I'd like to remove the Window List applet from my panel. How?

On my panel, there's a small, hard-to-see anchor/handle at the far left of the window list applet. If you click on that anchor, you should get the pop-up menu that you need to remove the applet.

Yep, both the Window List and Notification Area-applets have a small handle in far left end which allows you to move them around and access the applet's menu.
