My friend has a Dell XPS that had Windows XP installed. He booted from the Ubuntu 9.04 LiveCD and installed it with seperate partitions for XP and Ubuntu. But now, when he turns on the computer, Grub can't load Windows XP. How can we fix it?

Do this, type "sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst" that is the letter l not number 1, and post the results here. You probable just need to edit that file to boot windows. When we see the results we should be able to tell you how to do that.
