I want to create a persistent installation of Ubuntu on an SSD disk to boot from any computer, to be able to install and upgrade additional software I want this to be a clean install, using Extlinux instead og Grub. all this goes OK and I can boot from my laptop, and a couple of other computers, but to be able to make it fully portable i need to add the ability to load correct firmware/drivers during boot, can anyone please give me a walkthrough for how to do this? to be exact i want to be able to boot any computer like I was using a live CD or like it, but with the flexibility of a compete install.
