Hi, initially I insalled Ubuntu but after some time I decided to move to KDE so I added the kubuntu-desktop package.

Now, after I have tried KDE I would like to uninstall the GNOME desktop to free space but if I uncheck the ubuntu-desktop package in Synaptic, it says that is possible that the system could not run withouth that package.

It is safe to uninstall ubuntu-desktop? if not, how can I uninstall GNOME withouth problems?

Thanks in advance.

If you already have kubuntu-desktop installed, it is safe to remove ubuntu-desktop.
Can you post the exact error message?

Thanks for your reply. Now I've tried again to see the error message but there isn't any error message now. Perhaps the error showed only with the previous version, I have recently updated to 9.04.

thanks.
