Ubuntu beta for vmplayer

I recently downloaded vmplayer so I could run ubuntu on a virtual machine. The only version of 9.04 they had available, however, was the beta. Will this work or should I look somewhere else?

It should work but since it is beta it means that you will have lot of updates.Why don´t try using Virtual box. (http://www.virtualbox.org/)
