Ati graphics card on ubuntu 9.04?

could i use a ati graphics card with ubuntu 9.04? and would i need some drivers?

As long as it's one of the newer "HD" cards, it will automatically detect ATI drivers upon install and offer you the option of installing them, or using the open source driver.
