View Full Version : [ubuntu] the font is unclear

hello, all,

i am new to ubuntu.
after the installation, i found it works well, but in a short time, the font become unclear. i mean, some lettes are lined very very very close so that i can not read them. How should I solve this problem?

Right click the desktop > Change background.
Go to the fonts tab and try changing that setting on the botton part of the window.

Also, you can install proprietary fonts too.
You can either look for a guide on the forums (I forgot how to do it now) or just open the Synaptic Package Manager, find and install ubuntu-restricted-extras (that will not only install the fonts, but many other proprietary stuff, like codecs)

thank you very much.
i have installed these packages,it is better now,but there still is some fonts unclear,esp in the menu of firefox.
is it concerned with display card? but i have no idea of it.

No, I don't think it has something to do with the card.
Have you checked if Ubuntu is using your monitor's default resolution?

the default resolution is 1024 768 , so i think it matches well.
but now the fonts are clearer than before, anyway thank you very much.
