View Full Version : [ubuntu] disk on key that worg on ntfs file system

hi everyone i am using my disk on key to copy a hd movie (every file is more then 4.5gb) so i decide to format it in NTFS (because i copy the data from friends and work that use windows) my problem is that when i conect my disk on key to my ubuntu the operation system look at me with a fuuny look and do nothing
when i conect a disk on key that format with fat32 everything works fine

Need to know more than "funny look" ...need to know what specifically happens when you plugin the USB stick.

My guess is that you get a popup saying that it can't mount the drive. Most probably because you had it plugged into an MS Windows box and did not do a safe removal. In which case, you'll have to plug it back into an MS Windows box and either do a safe removal, or possibly run chkdsk on it first.
