I am troubleshooting my attempt to upgrade from Mythbuntu 8.10 AMD64. I gave up on the upgrade and did a clean install.

Is there any legitimate reason that the sudo modprobe command now fails, points to lines in a /etc/modprobe.conf file that seem to be about ivtv buffers and says that the file is deprecated and should be in the /etc/modprobe.d directory with the other .conf files? The same thing happened with the upgrade, too.
