Tired of the GNOME/Metacity combination, I installed LXDE a few days ago, but it doesn't seem to want to play well with Pulseaudio. As a result, I had to switch my media players back to ALSA.

Any ideas on whether I can get PA working with LXDE?

if i remember right, pulseaudio is a daemon that needs to be started with the desktop to work. not sure what the command is, try looking at the man page> man pulseaudio

i would guess> pulseaudio &
give it a try in terminal see if it works, if it does add it to the startup.
