Is there any special way in making one or do people just bust out there photo shop and work there magic? I have a normal Tux, which you can see in the attachment, is that all I need?

From what I've seen, yes, you do need to use your favorite image manipulation program to create a Tux...

Sorry.

Photoshop? You mean gimp right? And if you are editing svg files, you would use inkscape.

Well, there are many ways of going about it. One of the first things you can do is change Tux's color settings in Gimp by going to Color > Color Balance

You can also tweak the brightness and constrast for starting out.

As for clothes and things like that, you might have to make them yourself, or just alter a picture of a real one to fit Tux.

Gimp Tutorial - Make a G2 Tux (http://www.crystalxp.net/forum/en/Graphic-Tutorials/Gimp-Tutorials/sujet_41744_1.htm)

Can you make a "Hurley" from Lost? :)

yes... to edit images, you need image editing software. thats how it works. (and its "their" not "there". i'm not the only person who finds that irritating.)
most people just use a pre-made tux from here (http://tux.crystalxp.net/en.cat.16.html). if you want to edit your image, you can use GIMP or Inkscape...

To be honest, your being a little overbearing there.

whats sad? did you add this comment because you felt people weren't responding to your question fast enough? only seven minutes had gone by. plus, your question didn't make much sense. most people just use a pre-made tux from here (http://tux.crystalxp.net/en.cat.16.html). if you want to edit your image, you can use GIMP or Inkscape... images won't edit themselves.

Were any of these comments really THAT necessary?

Edit: Never mind. My post was completely unnecessary. I don't want to put more wood into the fire.

BTW, my Tux avatar was kindly designed by alex.rayu (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=443223), when I asked if there was a Cylon Tux out there (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1106602).

I tried to follow the tutorial I gave you, but it was too much for me. I don't have problems with the software itself, but with the design.

I would love to see a "Hurley" Tux with a Dharma suit.

actually, it's my style to only use lower case letters. i'm part of the movement to abolish upper case entirely.

so your argument is that there's a movement to replace "their" with "there"?
