Hello,
I recently built a pc and would really like to try Ubuntu on it. My problem is that the pc freezes as Ubuntu 8.04 loads.
More specifically, after I select "Install Ubuntu" from the menu, the orange part of the loading bar goes left and right for a while, then it begins to load but freezes at about 1/4 of the way through.
Here are the parts I used:
mobo: Foxconn M7VMX-K micro-ATX Motherboard
hdd: Maxtor 300GB Ultra16 PATA Internal Hard Drive
memory: HP-COMPAQ - 2GB 2 X 1GB PC2-6400-DDR2-800 SBY
cd: LG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA
I checked the disc integrity and it passed, so I'm sure that's the problem. Can anybody suggest what could be wrong?
Oh, and please let me know if any more information is needed.
Thanks!
