MS-corefonts and Firefox performance.

Do these fonts make a difference in Shiretoko ? I may be wrong but it would seem that the beta is rendering/loading faster since i installed these fonts.

I would imagine because more fonts have to be cached, it would slow performance slightly, but that difference is negligible.

You won't notice the difference. The amount of time it takes to search for fonts on modern computer hardware is imperceptible to humans.
