Remove Application icon from taskbar

Hello all.
Is there any way to remove the icons of the applications of the window list applet?

E.g when you have a rhythmbox window open, on the taskbar you can see the rb icon and the title of the song. How can I remove this icon?

I don't think it's possible unless you modify the source code of and and then recompile the Gnome applets.
