Terminal does not work after upgrading to 9.04

Hi after upgrading to Kubuntu 9.04 my terminal does not work anymore. I cannot type anything and there is ONLY a blinking cursor in the terminal box.

Somebody can help me?

so there is no text that says username@hostname? for me it says michael@ubuntu: _ the _ blinks so yea lol. You do not have that even?

yes exactly. there is just the blinking cursor. the "user@pc:" does not show up. I have already checked the path settings in the config menu.
