The bean icons are just a little bit of fun and don't really mean much. You might want to have a look here (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=239560).

It says that there is an exception for admins as well as banned users.

His profile is showing some activity 4 days ago. I'm not quite sure what's going on.

Burnt beans means they are banned.

That seems pretty unfair.

wolfen69 now resides at the nOOST (http://grubbn.org/otheros/index.php) (new Other OS Talk) forum, and told me that he sends his best regards to the members of this forum.

I never had a problem with this forum's policy. Rebelling against the guidelines you agreed to accept when you sign up is just silly. This is a privately run forum by them (not a free speech venue) and they can admin/moderate as much as they want on it.

Agreed, Charmy. I support the moderators' giving of the infraction. An inappropriate avatar is exactly that, an inappropriate avatar. Given that this forum is a private website (even if associated with Ubuntu), the mods are allowed to do what they want, and as far as I'm concerned, nothing has been done wrong.

I've never noticed any sort of moderator "abuse", per se, although I've experienced it many-a-time in forums in general.

What I'm more worried about is the giving of pointless advice in this forum, which happens more than once. There have been times when I've entered a topic with twenty replies to the original poster's inquiry, only to find that all twenty are addressing the wrong issue altogether, or offering no help at all.

Guilty as charged, but I'm working on it...

this is really wrong of the forum staff. Wolfen has really helped out alot of people this is very inappropriate just for an avitar. the admins should be banned and burned who took action against such a great and helpful member of the ubuntu community.

If you don't like the way a forum is administered, then don't use it, it is that simple.

In recent times, many of us have totally left the UF's. Some, myself included, only check in occasionally to observe the current state of degeneration.

over an avatar? just plain ridiculous. These admins cant possibly support the ethics of free software. wolfen69 has done so much to help out the community and to ban him over an avatar is very in appropriate. its really a doggy dog world.
