Just curious, has anybody ever installed the first release of Ubuntu and compared it to 9.04 just for kicks?

I'm burning the LiveCD of 4.10 now to install on a spare computer just to see what it was like. I started on 6.06 so I never even saw the earlier versions. Being a faithful Ubuntu user I guess I'd like to see where the roots are.

I booted the liveCD on virtualbox once, saw that it looked ugly, and didn't really touch it again.

Never done that, but I did once install WfW (windows 3.11) on a CD on a Celeron 400 machine. Swap file was on a hard disk. Ran like the wind!

I'm going to try that right now.
